Council Candidate Information Session

Do you want to run for Council?

A candidate information session was held on April 26th at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 129 in Haliburton for anyone interested in running for the role of Mayor, Deputy Mayor or Ward Councillor in any of the County of Haliburton municipalities. The information session was led by Fred Dean, a municipal coach and former municipal solicitor who has been training members and heads of Council since 2002. The session provided an overview of the roles and responsibilities of municipal council members and explained how public office will impact your life. 

Family members of potential candidates are also encouraged to watch the video to learn about the impact of public office on family life. Anyone interested in learning about local government is encouraged to check it out as well!
