The Municipality of Dysart et al was successful in obtaining funding through an Active People Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Grant. This grant allowed the municipality to provide more access to drinking water in areas where people are known to participate in physical activity.
Indoor water refill stations
We have three indoor water refill stations. Two of these stations were made possible through funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). They are located at:
- A.J. LaRue Community Centre, 728 Mountain Street
- one upstairs in the auditorium (OTF)
- one in the lobby
- Lobby of the Dysart Branch of the Haliburton County Public Library, 78 Maple Avenue (OTF)
Outdoor water refill stations
We have four public outdoor water refill stations. Three of these stations were made possible through funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). They can be found at:
- Head Lake Park, 78 Maple Avenue (across from the information caboose)
- Haliburton Highlands Museum, 66 Museum Road (OTF Funding)
- West Guilford Community Centre, 1061 Kennisis Lake Road (OTF funding)
- Municipal Office, near skate park, 728 Mountain Street (OTF funding)
To fill large containers of water
There are two outdoor taps that can be used for filling large water containers. They are located at:
- A.J. LaRue Community Centre, 728 Mountain Street (at the front of the building)
- West Guilford Community Centre, 1061 Kennisis Lake Road (around side of building)
The water refill stations and outdoor taps are tested and cleaned through direction from the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit.
