Recreation Programs
The Municipality of Dysart et al offers a variety of programs and drop-in activities for all ages. Recreation programs are a great way to get active, meet people and have fun!
Create your account and password on-line to register for programs. Due to Covid-19 all programs, including drop-in programs require preregistration.
Jolly Jog |
Dig through your closets and find your festive holiday attire! The Jolly Jog is a family friendly event designed to get you in the holiday spirit. You have the option to walk, jog, run the route. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing may even be an option if the weather permits. There will be three route options ranging from approximately 1. 5 km - 5 km in distance. Please wear appropriate attire and footwear for the conditions. The weather will determine the ground cover on the routes. Cash donations for the Haliburton County Food Bank are appreciated, but not necessary for participation. Meet outside at the Haliburton Highlands Museum. Event begins at 10:00 am. |
Ball Hockey |
Youth ball hockey is one of our most popular programs. Registration will open the first week of March. |

Youth Soccer |
Haliburton Grassroots Athletics is an all inclusive youth league that celebrates group play, sportsmanship and all the lessons that the great sport of soccer can each our youth, both on the pitch and off.
Registration for youth soccer will open on February 24 at 9 am. Please note, registration is on a first come first served basis. Payment must be received in full to reserve your spot. |

Women's Soccer |
Play like a bunch of girls! Haliburton Ladies Soccer is happening again this year! If you're in the area and would like to play footie, sign up today. All levels are welcome! Games Sundays at 5pm. We recommend that you show up 15 minutes early to warm-up and get your cleats on. |

Parent and Tot Skate |
An opportunity for parents/guardians to help young children develop their skating skills.
Children must be five (5) years of age or younger and accompanied by an adult (up to 3 children per adult).

Public Skating |
Most Sundays 11:00 am - 12:20 pm*
For an up-to-date schedule of all our public skating programs, visit our community events calendar. *During minor hockey tournaments, there will be no public skating or public skating will occur later in the day.

Stick and Puck |
Stick and Puck is available at the A.J. LaRue Arena. For those of you looking to improve on your stick handling skills, this skate is for you. This is not a shinny time. The skate is specifically offered to allow for the use of sticks and pucks while skating around. This skate is designed for those 16+. There will be no goalies and playing hockey is not permitted. Helmets are strongly recommended. The cost is $2.00 per person. |
Shinny |
Full equipment must be worn. A properly fitting CSA approved helmet must be worn by all skaters. Slap shots and body contact are not permitted. $5.00 per person. |
Sensory Public Skate |
During the sensory skate we will reduce noise in the facility, turn off the music and dim the lighting to create a calmer atmosphere on the ice.
