Make sure you are prepared for the activity prior to heading out. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to be back.

Canoeing/kayaking/boating

Always practice safe boating.  Wear your PFD and know the conditions ahead of time. Remember the water can still be cold and/or covered with ice.

 
Fishing
Make sure that you have a valid fishing license and you know what is in season for the lake you are fishing on.

A variety of hiking opportunities exist throughout the Municipality of Dysart et al and Haliburton County.

Be prepared for the different types of trail conditions you might encounter. There could still be snow or ice on the trail or large muddy sections. Prepare yourself for blackflies and mosquitos
